The Joint Administration and Matriculation Board, JAMB, is currently trending topic on twitter and it is in fact, number one on the trending chart – this comes after their recent announcement left people pondering about the future of education in Nigeria.
The educational body has fixed minimum cut off marks for admissions into universities in Nigeria at 120, polytechnics and colleges of education at 100, while that of innovative enterprising institutes at 110. Institutions are, however, at liberty to raise their cut off marks for admission above the minimum set by JAMB.
The fact that ‘120’ was set as the minimum cut off mark for admissions into Nigerian universities isn’t all that pleasant to the ears of some Nigerians and so on social media, they reacted angrily at what is perceived as a blow to the Nigerian educational system.
