The newly constituted Governing Council of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has at an inaugural meeting held today at the institution’s main campus in Ogbomoso pledged to return the once best state university in the country to its glory days.
The Chairman of the council, Prof. Oladapo Afolabi, who led other members which include; Lai Olurode, Olamide Adedokun, Abiodun Owonikoko, Isiaka Olagoke, Tise Adenipekun, and Bade Adesina, at an interactive session held with workers’ unions, urged stakeholders to rededicate themselves to the uplift of the institution.
While urging them to shun all divisive tendencies that had brought the institution to its present situation, Afolabi said that the council had officially appointed Messrs KPMG to carry out the audit of the institution so that academic activities could commence in earnest.
No resumption date has been announced for the university that has been shut for more than one academic year.
