A 25-year-old man has shocked residents of Kiorugari village in Mwea East, Kirinyanga County after he chopped off his manhood on New Year’s Day after women he approached to be in a relationship with turned him down.
Kimotho, who is said to find it difficult to get a woman for himself, decided to take that drastic step since he believed his manhood was 'useless' to him and as such, should be blamed for his inability to get a woman
Leonard Kimotho Gichinga’s parents were left dumbfounded by his action and called the area chief, Emmaculate Wanjiru Njoka to listen to his cry.
“A family from Kiorugari called and informed me their son had chopped off his manhood. They say after secretly performing the act on himself, he rushed out of the house while bleeding profusely,” said Ms Njoka.
“Mr Gichinga’s parents say he has never been married. He told his relatives that his manhood is useless if there’s no woman he uses it on and claimed no woman has accepted to be his partner,” added Ms Njoka.
Ms Njoka says she told Mr Gichinga’s kinsmen to rush him to Kimbimbi Hospital.
“They carried the objects and his severed manhood in a polythene bag to the hospital. Upon reaching the facility, doctors advised the family to take the victim to Kerugoya Level 4 Hospital since his condition was severe,” said the area chief.
“The doctors at Kerugoya Level 4 Hospital have said they will try their best to reattach the manhood.”
Mr Gichinga used a kitchen knife to dismember himself.
