5 persons arrested by the police for lynching suspected ritualists in Mushin

5 persons were on Thursday arrested for lynching suspected two suspected ritualists in Mushin area of the metropolis.

The spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspects would be charged to court for jungle justice once the investigation was concluded.
Another ritualists’ hideout was uncovered in a tunnel at the Challenge area of Mushin, Lagos on Wednesday.

Sources said that two of the three suspects found at the hideout were lynched by a mob before the arrival of policemen.

“The hideout used to be the sewage tunnel of a moribund company in the area.
“Syringes and needles were also found in the hideout,” a source said.

Notorious kidnappers nabbed in Lokooja

    
The Kogi State Police Command on Wednesday arrested three notorious kidnappers who have for a while been terrorizing the state, particularly Okene axis. The suspects are Mohammed Abdulrazak ‘m’ 30year, Yusuf Abona Jafaru ‘m’ 27 years and Iliyasu Yusuf Nyamida ‘m’ 37 years.  Commissioner of Police  in the state Wilson Inalegwu at a press briefing in Lokoja said the arrest is part of the commands fight against criminal activities such armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, cattle rustling and other violent crime in the state, through a proactive crime preventing strategies.

Inalegwu said,

 “On the 30/08/2017 at about 9am, the Police Officers attached to OKENE Division on pin down duty stopped a Gulf Station Wagon, but the driver refused to stop, and was trying to escape but was given a hot chase by the operatives and eventually intercepted the car and arrested the three suspects at Okene Check point.
Items recovered from the suspects according to the Police Commissioner include; One Barreta Pistol with six rounds of live ammunition, One Tiger Pistol Revolver with twelve live ammunition, Nine Hand sets of different types, Small box containing surgical implements, One HP Laptop and One Ash colour Gulf station wagon Car with Reg. No. EKP 394 EX, EDO “The suspects will be arraigned in court on completion of investigation, while effort is on top gear to track down other members of the syndicate” the CP added.

A newly-wedded lady ahs died just 11 days after hr wedding.

According to several social media posts Zalman and Salim Sodangi got married in Abuja on the 19th of August.

It’s a sacrilege for any woman to walk out of the palace. It’s a slap on tradition. A slap on the throne,” said a source close to the palace.

So, the oracle chose the name Wuraola and dropped others.

Armed robber nabbed at The Lords Chosen Church in Ondo (photo)

Two days before the just concluded The Lord’s Chosen Ondo State State Crusade (MY STORY MUST CHANGE), some unknown persons broke into the State Pastor’s office to cart away the money kept there for the running of the programme but they were unsuccessful.

Now, on Monday night after the crusade, according to a broadcast by the church, the robbers came boldly again because they believed pledges were made during the programme, but this time around, God was not ready to show them mercy again since they didn’t learn their lessons in their previous attempt.

As the workers and leaders gathered for their usual vigil, while prayers were going on, some armed men came to attack the church with their weapons and as they surrounded the church compound, 3 of them quickly entered inside the church.

When they were pursued by the church members, one of the robbers fell into a gutter and was apprehended by some of The Chosen Mopol Brethren.

He was later handed over to the police at B Division, Oke Aro.

A 30-year-old Russian woman accused of being a cocaine mule is facing the death penalty in Vietnam.

But Maria Dapirka, who has already written a ‘farewell letter’ to her mother, claims she was set up by her Nigerian lover who posed as a top footballer.

Her lawyers have said she has accepted she may soon be executed, but still clings on to some hope she will be freed after three years in prison.

Dapirka, who lived in Thailand when she met her lover, known as Nick, was caught with almost 3kg of cocaine by Vietnamese customs on a flight from Singapore.

She said the cocaine was planted in her luggage by Nick – or ‘Chib Eze’ – who apparently has a penchant for seducing attractive young women before conning them into carrying drugs.

Dapirka’s verdict and sentence was due to be handed down by a Vietnamese judge today in a Ho Chi Minh city court but the session was postponed ‘for further investigation’ for the fifth time.

In a letter to her mother Olga, a desperate Dapirka said she was ready for any decision by the court.
She wrote:

‘Don’t worry about me. I am fine. I am ready for any end. I hope you will manage to visit me. I’ve not seen you for four years. I miss you so much! Please take good care of your health.’

Her lawyer Sunkar Nurmagambetov said:

‘We have received Maria’s appeal.
‘She addressed her family and said that she has not lost faith yet but realistically she understands there might be scenarios like a death sentence or life term.’
Before her arrest, she was a keen sportswoman who did not drink or smoke, he said.

‘She has had to get used to the new conditions. She is trying to stay as optimistic as she can, but sometimes her mood can be quite low.’

Pro-Kremlin news site Mash in Russia published a picture purporting to be ‘Nick’, the man she accuses of framing her after they met in Thailand.

The Nigerian media has claimed the same man used different fake names to dupe dozens of other women with model looks to act as drugs mules. His real name is not known.

‘What started as a beautiful love story for these innocent girls with model looks ended up into a nightmare on the death row on drug-trafficking charges,’ reported NAIJ.com two years ago.
‘All these beautiful girls have been duped into being drug mules by an elusive Nigerian drug baron, who pretended to be a professional footballer or a pro from the fashion industry.
‘He seduced the girls promising to marry them and establishing intimate relationships with his victims, but little did they know what they have been chosen for.’

Another woman alleged to have been tricked by ‘Nick’, one Akzharkyn Turlybay, aged 20, a Kazakhstan model, was sentenced to life imprisonment in China, before the verdict was quashed last year and the case sent back to the lower courts.

Another victim, Zhibek Sakeeva was jailed for 12 years in Indonesia in 2012 after allegedly being conned by the same drugs baron.

One more possible victim was 22-year-old Colombian, Juliana Lopez, a university student and model, who also hosted a TV show, it was reported.
Lopez was arrested two years ago in China with a notebook containing drugs.

A campaign organised by Maria Dapirka’s friends calling for her release alleged that ‘a whole criminal syndicate of Nigerian men work in Asia and all around the world, like Maria’s so-called boyfriend.

‘They make up all sort of stories, win trust, some even marry their potential future drug mules. Maria is not in this alone, there is plenty of girls like her who trust these men.’

Olga, her mother, insisted her daughter was innocent.

‘I hope Maria will be released because Vietnam has the death penalty for this crime.’

Girl born without a FACE defies the odds to reach her 9th birthday

A girl who was born without a face because of a rare condition has defied the odds to reach her ninth birthday thanks to her family’s love.

Vitória Marchioli, from Barra de São Francisco in Brazil, has the genetic disorder Treacher Collins Syndrome which prevented 40 of her facial bones from developing properly.

As a baby, with her her eyes, mouth and nose displaced, doctors doubted she would survive her first few hours of life.

They even refused to feed her, told the family to go home and wait for their daughter to die and to start making funeral arrangements.

But earlier this month, she reached her ninth birthday, defying medics who say the only reason she is alive is due to her parents’ thorough care and devotion.

Her father Ronaldo, 39, said: ‘Doctors can’t explain how she has lived so long, but they believe it is down to our care and the love we have for her that has kept her alive.

‘We’re hoping to continue fundraising to give our daughter a better quality of life and giving her the best appearance we can.

‘We fight for her so that she can look better and have a better quality of life. We love her and are thankful for having her alive.’

Treacher Collins Syndrome affects just one in 50,000 people.

At two days old, Vitória was transferred to a specialist unit where her condition was diagnosed and a week later her doting family took her home.

Since then she’s had eight surgeries to reconstruct her eyes, nose and mouth as well as stimulate her motor functions, most recently at Shriner’s Hospital in Texas, USA.

Mr Marchioli, a contract chauffeur, said: ‘She looked a little strange when she was born she had a big opening on her face and a very open eye, she was different from our other children.

‘Doctors told us she would not survive and that she only had one or two hours to live, they didn’t give her any chance of survival.

‘She was transferred to a specialist unit at another hospital in the capital to get more information on her health and the condition.

‘She does not have a well-defined bone structure because 40 of the bones in her face did not form, which affected her eyes too.’

But despite their struggles and her uncertain future, her father and mother Jocilene, 43, say they are grateful.

‘She does not have any life expectancy, we do not know how long she will survive, we didn’t expect her to make it until her ninth birthday but are so grateful she has,’ added Mr Marchioli.

Among Vitória problems were her nose not forming, an obscured mouth, damaged eyes with her left one protruding from its socket and the other covered by a mass of tissue.

Despite the family’s best efforts to fix the problems through six years of surgeries, they regularly receive nasty comments about their daughter’s appearance.

Mr Marchioli said: ‘We have been verbally abused and rejected by the public because of the appearance of our daughter

‘Even our other daughters have told us that children at school verbally abuse them for the appearance of Vitória.’

Vitória’s survival is all thanks to her family’s care which has involved round-the-clock efforts.

At times the family, would wake-up every three-hours to feed her nutrients through a tube pushed down her throat into her stomach.

As well as regularly checking on her to ensure she’s not choking or putting herself in harm’s way.

Mr Marchioli said: ‘Vitória receives all the care, affection and possible love that we can give her, we try every day to help her as much as we can.

‘In future, we hope humanity will have more love for people independent of their appearance, skin colour, race, religion and more.’
