A 31-year-old man, Gafar Ajibola, jumped into Ogun River in Oniyanrin, Abeokuta and drown, while running away from policemen during a raid.
Vanguard gathered that Ajibola was washing his clothes at the bank of the river, when he reportedly heard gunshots from policemen, who were allegedly raiding the community. Out of fear, he jumped into the river.

In what may be described as a highly unusual act, President of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, this morning joined the local villagers in fetching water on a bicycle in Kawumu village, Luweero District.

Breaking: 9 killed in suicide bomb explosions in Maiduguri (Photos)
Two suicide bombings have rocked Nigeria’s Northeast city of Maiduguri this morning, killing at least nine people and injuring at least 24 others, emergency services said.
“Two suicide bombers riding in motorised rickshaws this morning detonated their explosives 10 minutes apart, with one of them targeting the Bakassi IDP (internally displaced persons) camp on the outskirts of the city,” Mohammed Kanar, spokesman for Nigeria Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), said.
Nine persons lost their lives with twenty-four persons injured and evacuated to various hospitals,” NEMA said in a statement posted on Twitter.
