PHOTOS: Rihanna opened the 2016 MTV VMAs and she KILLED it

Rihanna was enlisted to open the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards and as usual, bae had the event lit.  Check out these photos of her clad in a Hood by Air T-shirt and pink boots and taking the stage at New York City's Madison Square Garden to deliver her performances of the night. 

                             
Rihanna kicked off the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28, with an epic career-spanning five-minute medley of some of her biggest dance hits, including "We Found Love" and "Where Have You Been."

She is also accepting the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award tonight. She has big footsteps to fill too as the last person to accept the award, Kanye West, used the award stump to announce his bid for the American Presidency in 2020.
