A touching photo of an elderly couple holding hands in bed just hours before death parts them after 77 years together has left many touched. The ’till-death-do us part’ photo shows the 100-year-old grandfather comforting his 96-year-old wife moments before she dies.
The photo was posted on popular forum, Reddit, and users have been leaving heartfelt messages for the widowed man and his family. It was posted by the couple’s granddaughter, who uses the site under the name RealLiveGirl and is believed to be from San Francisco, revealed the story behind the photograph.
She wrote: “My Grandma, 96, with my Grandpa, 100, hours before her death this weekend. 77 years of marriage.”
